The Story

As a fashion designer, I rarely got the opportunity to illustrate fashion or design gowns...this was my chance to indulge!

The Scorpio Astro Gal
The title: L'Appassionata
(The impassioned woman in Italian)

To illustrate the Scorpio star sign gal, a passionate, intelligent, and loyal woman, I focused on the intensity of the late fall season with its bare trees, and rust-colored lined grounds. Her hair, like a scorpion's tail, is in vivid autumn shades. Her elegant one-shoulder velvety dress is a gradient of topaz (her birthstone) to dark grey. The equestrian chains and monograms pattern line the background.

Care Instructions

Dry cleaning is always recommended for silk but you can also hand wash it with a mild detergent and lay flat or hang to dry.

Never use chlorine bleach; this would damage the fibers.

Use iron on silk setting (low heat).

To amplify color fastness (colors not fading) you can first do a wash in cold water with 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 1 teaspoon of salt.
