Pieces Astro Gal
The title: She sells seashells...
As a fashion designer, I rarely got the opportunity to illustrate fashion or design gowns...this was my chance to indulge!
To illustrate the Pieces Gal, I focused on everything related to the sea: aquamarine tones (as the birthstone), the pink hues of seashells, the vibrant sea flora, and the mythical mermaid: an homage to aqua-ballet movies with the legendary Esther Williams.
Reflecting the Pieces' universal love, her skin tone is neither pink nor brown but a pacific light blue. Her mermaid dress mirrors her sensitivity and imagination with some delicate glittery fish scales intertwined with algae and topped off with a lovely vintage floral swimming cap.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
Dry cleaning is always recommended for silk but you can also hand wash it with a mild detergent and lay flat or hang to dry.
Never use chlorine bleach; this would damage the fibers.
Use iron on silk setting (low heat).
As per all artwork, never hand in direct sunlight
To amplify color fastness (colors not fading) you can first do a wash in cold water with 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 1 teaspoon of salt.
