The Story

Cancer Astro Gal
The title: Jardin Maternel (Maternal garden in French!)

As a fashion designer, I rarely got the opportunity to illustrate fashion or design gowns...this was my chance to indulge!

To illustrate the Cancer Gal, I focused on the lush blooms, chirping birds, butterflies, and joie de vivre that represent the summer season. Mother nature's best!
For the zodiac's nurturer, it seems like a natural fit. Her hair is coiffed and ruby colored "à la crab" and her gown, of floral pattern, is soft, semi-sheer, and flowy...in honor of her sensitivity!

Care Instructions

Dry cleaning is always recommended for silk but you can also hand wash it with a mild detergent and lay flat or hang to dry.

Never use chlorine bleach; this would damage the fibers.

Use iron on silk setting (low heat).

To amplify color fastness (colors not fading) you can first do a wash in cold water with 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 1 teaspoon of salt.
