The Story
The Story
In delicate pastel colors, this artwork is really special to my heart; it’s an homage to my late father Bernard.
I remember him always fascinated when he would see, on rare occasions, either a cardinal or a blue jay while sitting on the back porch of our suburbia family home, during warm spring and summer days. Of course, those 2 birds are pretty majestic but I think his interest in them was also because he was an avid baseball fan!
After his passing in late 2019, I made the wish for him to give me a sign that he was ok and was specific in asking to see one of those 2 birds. I’ve lived in the city for a long time and never saw any, nor did I expect to either. I wanted a REAL sign…not something too easy!
The following spring, on my birthday (in May) I was taking a walk and just stopped dead-in-my tracks: there is was, a fiery red cardinal in a neighbor's front yard, about 4 feet away from me, at knee level! A happy birthday to me from my dad! It brought instant tears to my eyes.
Cherry on the sunday: last fall I had left some peanuts on my balcony for the squirrels that live in the park across my street and, yup, one morning, turning into my kitchen, there it was, wings all extended, grabbing some peanuts, a blue jay – I just froze and stared in wonder! - Thanks dad, I miss you.
So this scarf illustrates those 2 birds and was designed with lots of love in my heart and peace of mind. I hope it brings you the same.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
Dry cleaning is always recommended but you can also hand wash silk with a mild detergent and lay flat or hang to dry.
Never use chlorine bleach; this would damage the fibers.
Use iron on silk setting (low heat).
To amplify color fastness (colors not fading) you can first do a wash in cold water with 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 1 teaspoon of salt.
