Capricorn Astro Gal
The title: Patria Vestivitatibus
(inspired by old Latin for the "homeland of festivities"!)
As a fashion designer, I rarely got the opportunity to illustrate fashion or design gowns...this was my chance to indulge!
To illustrate the Capricorn Gal, I focused on the richness of the Garnet birthstone; the dress just had to be red! The décor has a Gatsby feel to emphasize the glam of the festivities of the holiday season and the new year ahead, as her top hat and bowtie. She also needed to look strong and dedicated. Her hairstyle subtly depicts the horns of the mythical goat.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
This Hanging Tapestry is washable!
Dry cleaning is always recommended for silk but you can also hand wash it with a mild detergent and lay flat or hang to dry.
Never use chlorine bleach; this would damage the fibers.
Use iron on silk setting (low heat).
As per all artwork, never hand in direct sunlight
To amplify color fastness (colors not fading) you can first do a wash in cold water with 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 1 teaspoon of salt.
